Title-tags zijn standaardelementen in HTML, bedoeld om de titel van een webpagina aan te geven in de browserbalk of tabbladen. Deze zijn niet zichtbaar op de pagina zelf en kunnen daarom niet direct worden gestyled met CSS. Wat je kunt stylen, is bv. een h1-tag (of ander kopformaat) die je gebruikt als titel op je pagina.
Dit kan je doen met behulp van CSS-selectors en de bijbehorende eigenschappen en waarden. Hier een voorbeeld hoe het uiterlijk van een h1-tag kan worden gewijzigd:

In dit voorbeeld zal de tekst in h1-tags blauw zijn met een fontgrootte van 36 pixels en het lettertype zal Arial zijn, indien beschikbaar, of anders een standaard sans-serif font.
Onthoud echter dat de werkelijke `
` tag in een <span class="caps">HTML</span> document (meestal geplaatst binnen de `<head>` tag) niet gestyled kan worden met <span class="caps">CSS</span>. Het heeft invloed op dingen als <span class="caps">SEO</span> en hoe je pagina wordt weergegeven in de zoekresultaten, maar het verschijnt niet feitelijk op je pagina.</p></div>
