VSwap or Virtual Swap is a memory management model in OpenVZ that influences the machine’s swap behavior. It manages the allocation and deallocation of system memory for virtual private servers and replaces the previous User Beancounters model. If a virtual environment exceeds its memory limit, VSwap allows it to use some form of disk storage as extra memory but with lower performance.
