UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is a connectionless network protocol used for transmitting data over the internet. It is part of the Internet Protocol suite and is a simple, lightweight communication protocol that does not guarantee the successful delivery of data packets. UDP is often used for applications that require real-time transmission of data, such as video and audio streaming, gaming, and voice over IP (VoIP). Since UDP does not establish a connection before sending data or require acknowledgment of receipt, it is generally faster than TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), but less reliable.
