What are the system requirements to run ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can be used on a device with an internet connection and a modern web browser. It doesn’t have specific system requirements like a software application would because it runs in the cloud, rather than directly on your hardware.

If you are looking to run the model locally, OpenAI GPT-3 (the base model for ChatGPT) is very computationally demanding. It will require a machine with a lot of RAM and a powerful GPU (such as a high-end NVIDIA GPU). However, OpenAI has not publicly released the full version of GPT-3 for local use and you would need to use the API provided by OpenAI to interact with the model.
