Installing Docker on MacOS is quite straightforward:
1. You need to first download Docker Desktop for Mac from the official docker page. Here is the URL: https://docs.docker.com/docker-for-mac/install/
1. Once the Docker.dmg file is downloaded, you will find this file in the “Downloads” directory or the directory where you’ve set your downloads to go into.
1. Double click the Docker.dmg file to start the installation process.
1. In the window that shows up with a whale and instructions, drag-and-drop the Docker application icon onto the Applications folder.
1. Then, you will have to authenticate by providing your Mac system password to start the installation process of Docker. This should only take a couple of minutes.
1. After installation, launch Docker by navigating to the Applications folder and clicking the Docker Desktop App.
1. The Docker icon in the top status bar indicates that Docker is running, and accessible from a terminal.
1. If you want to ensure that Docker was installed correctly, you can run the command `docker version` in the terminal, which will show you the version of Docker running on your system.
Remember that Docker also enables Kubernetes during the installation process, you can disable it if not required by going to Docker Desktop -> Preferences -> deselect ‘Enable Kubernetes’.
It’s worth noting that you need to have macOS version 10.14 or newer to install Docker Desktop.
