1. You need to have Windows 10 64-bit with at least 4GB of RAM to run Docker Desktop. This OS needs to support virtualization as well.
1. Go to Docker’s official website and download Docker Desktop for Windows: https://hub.docker.com/editions/community/docker-ce-desktop-windows
1. After downloading, you will have the Docker Desktop Installer executable. Run it and you will get the following screen:
1. Click on the “I accept the terms of the license agreement” checkbox and then click on the “Install” button. If you want to use Windows containers, you can check that box as well.
1. After you click Install, it will take a few minutes and will show the installation successful screen.
1. When you see the success screen, you will also notice a Docker icon on your desktop. Docker will start automatically.
1. Right-click the Docker icon to see the options. You can switch between Linux and Windows container as well by right-clicking the Docker icon.
1. To check to see if Docker is running correctly, you can run the following command in a command prompt: `docker run hello-world`
1. Success! Docker should now be installed and running on your Windows machine. Remember to keep Docker running in the background if you plan on using it frequently. Once Docker is running, you can also use the Docker command line or GUI to run Docker commands.
Please note: If you have an older version of Windows, you might need to use Docker Toolbox instead.
Remember, you must have administrative rights to install and run Docker in Windows.
