What is an HTTP brute force attack?


An HTTP brute force attack is a type of cyberattack in which an attacker tries to guess a valid username and password combination to gain unauthorized access to a web page or application. This is accomplished by the attacker submitting multiple username and password combinations until a valid one is found. The attacker may use automated tools to speed up the process of guessing username and password combinations. The goal of the attack is to gain access to sensitive data or resources, such as financial data or personal information. This attack can be prevented by using strong passwords, limiting login attempts, and adding multi-factor authentication.
