IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is designed to handle messages from multiple devices. With IMAP, email messages are stored on the server rather than just on the local device. This means that no matter which device you use to access your email, you will see the same messages and folders.
When a message is received, it is synced across all devices that are connected through the same IMAP account. When a message is read or marked as read on one device, it will reflect the same status on other devices also connected to the same IMAP account. Therefore, messages can be accessed and updated from any device that is connected to the same account.
IMAP also supports real-time synchronization which enables users to perform actions such as move, delete or label messages quickly across all devices connected. Therefore, when users use different devices to access their email, they will see the same email content and also access to their customized folders and labels for their email messages.
