A domain name is converted to an IP address through a process called DNS or Domain Name System. When a user types in a domain name in their browser, the browser sends a request to a DNS server to lookup the IP address associated with that domain name. The DNS server searches for the IP address in its database and returns it to the browser. The browser then connects to the IP address to establish a connection with the website’s server and retrieve the website’s content for display. This process is known as DNS resolution.
