How does MAPI handle voice and video messages?

MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface) is a protocol used for communication between email clients and messaging servers. It primarily handles text-based messages and does not have built-in support for voice and video messages.

However, some email clients and messaging applications that use MAPI may have additional plugins or capabilities to handle voice and video messages. For example, Microsoft Outlook, which uses MAPI, has a built-in feature for video calls through the Skype for Business application.

In such cases, MAPI would be used to transmit the text-based message that contains the instructions for the recipient to access the voice or video message through a separate application or platform. The voice and video message itself would not be transmitted through MAPI.
