How to identify OSPF areas?

There are three main steps to identify OSPF areas:

1. Locate the OSPF network topology: First, identify where OSPF is being used in the network topology. OSPF is commonly used in medium to large networks that have multiple routers.

1. Identify router links: Trace the router links and links between routers to identify the areas within OSPF.

1. Check the OSPF area number: Every OSPF area is assigned a unique number. You can identify it by checking the configuration of the router that is connected to an area. The command to check the OSPF area is “show ip ospf interface”.
