The OpenVZ project is an open-source project that deals with server virtualization, where a physical server can be partitioned into multiple isolated virtual private servers (VPS). It enables you to deploy dozens of isolated Linux containers (otherwise known as jails or VEs) on a single physical server, allowing server resources to be shared and also providing better server management. This technology can be useful in server consolidation and disaster recovery applications.
