How important are meta tags for SEO?

According to Moz, an SEO software company, meta tags like ‘robots’ or ‘X-Robots-Tag’ offer “more granular, page-specific indexation instructions than sitewide robots.txt protocols.”

Additionally, the viewport and charset meta tags are essential for responsive web design and page rendering, respectively. While they may not directly impact SEO, they contribute significantly to overall site usability and accessibility, which search engines consider highly.

While meta tags are just one of many factors that search engines consider when ranking websites, they should not be overlooked. They provide crucial information about your website to the users and the search engines, thereby helping to drive targeted audience traffic to your website.
