How to change file permissions via SFTP?

To change file permissions via SFTP, follow these steps:

1. Connect to the remote server using an SFTP client such as FileZilla.

1. Navigate to the directory in which the file whose permissions you want to change is located.

1. Right-click on the file and select “File Permissions” or “Properties” from the context menu.

1. In the “File Permissions” or “Properties” dialog box, you’ll see the current permissions of the file in the form of three groups of three digits each (e.g. “755”). The first group represents the owner of the file, the second group represents the group owner of the file, and the third group represents all other users.

1. Modify the permissions as desired by checking or unchecking the boxes next to the permissions you want to grant or remove. You can also enter the new permissions directly in the “Numeric value” field.

1. Click “OK” or “Apply” to save the changes.

1. Your file permissions should now be updated.
