How to configure the encryption algorithms allowed on an SSH server?

To configure the encryption algorithms allowed on an SSH server, follow these steps:

1. Open the SSH server configuration file. Depending on your operating system, the file may be located in different directories. For example, on Linux, the file may be located at /etc/ssh/sshd\_config.

1. Scroll down to the section that defines the supported algorithms. The section is usually called “Ciphers” or “Crypto”.

1. Remove any algorithms that you don’t want to allow. To do this, simply delete the algorithm name from the list. For example, to disallow the 3DES algorithm, remove “3des-cbc” from the list.

1. Add any algorithms that you want to allow. To do this, simply add the algorithm name to the list. For example, to allow the AES128 algorithm, add “aes128-cbc” to the list.

1. Save the configuration file and restart the SSH server for the changes to take effect.

Note: be careful when modifying the SSH server configuration, as incorrect configuration could potentially lock yourself out of the server. It’s recommended to create a backup of the configuration file before making any changes.
