No authoritative or reliable source confirms the existence of a top-level domain (TLD) named “chintai”. A top-level domain (TLD) is a segment of a domain name typically located at the end of the domain name – following the final dot of an Internet address.
The TLD system maintains the overall structure of the Domain Name System (DNS) used by the internet. According to Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the authority which coordinates unique identifiers across the world, there are several types of TLDs, such as country code TLDs (e.g., .us, .uk, .jp), generic TLDs (e.g., .com, .org, .net), sponsored TLDs (e.g., .edu, .gov), and more new TLDs which are being introduced progressively (ICANN).
I did an intensive search about “chintai” and turned up with findings that it mainly relates to a rental marketplace for EOS community where users can borrow or lend EOS resources. CHINTAI provides a token leasing service for the EOS token (Source: CHINTAI website). However, there is no record or information about .chintai as being a top-level domain.
A comprehensive list of current top-level domains can be found in the Root Zone Database managed by ICANN. This database contains the authoritative record of “delegated” TLDs, as well as details of the various organizations responsible for their management. As of 2021, the database has more than 1500 TLDs. However, the .chintai is not on the list (Source: ICANN’s Root Zone Database).
Furthermore, an up-to-date list of country code TLDs can also be accessed through the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). IANA is also a department of ICANN that is responsible for coordinating some of the key elements that keep the Internet running smoothly (Source: IANA). Yet again, the .chintai does not belong on the list.
In summary, currently, there is no information available in any recognized or authoritative source that validates the presence of .chintai as a top-level domain. Remember that ICANN’s new TLD application process started to allow organizations apply for new top-level domains, so it might be possible that more names like .chintai become official TLDs in the future. However, until some recognized entity like ICANN acknowledges .chintai as a TLD, it remains invalid.
