The top-level domain (TLD) : CIPRIANI

After researching multiple domain registration databases and internet rules and regulations, it appears that there isn’t a top-level domain (TLD) titled ‘.CIPRIANI’ existing currently. Top-level domains are the highest level of domain names in the root zone of the DNS of the Internet. The prominent examples are .com, .org, .net, .gov, .edu, etc. They are installed in the root zone of the name space. As per the data from Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which is a non-profit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces and numerical spaces of the Internet, there’s no TLD on the name of ‘.CIPRIANI’.

IANA (The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) is the organization that oversees the allocation of IP addresses and domain names, and it also does not list ‘.CIPRIANI’ in its database of available TLDs. IANA’s Root Zone Database (https://www.iana.org/domains/root/db) is the authoritative record of the operators of various top-level domains, and a search of this database does not return a ‘.CIPRIANI’ TLD.

Although starting from 2012, ICANN started a new process that allowed organizations to apply for a new generic top-level domain (gTLD) containing any meaningful, valuable title for them. For instance, some popular brands and organizations like .google, .apple, .nike, etc., have started their gTLDs. However, these TLDs are not open to the public and reserved only for the use of these companies.

If the name “CIPRIANI” refers to a particular business or brand, it might be worth considering for them to get a gTLD similar to how Google or Apple did. The value of having gTLD is that it can make the online presence of an organization more meaningful and bring a sense of reliability among the users. However, this is a lengthy and costly process and needs an application to ICANN, involving a substantial application fee also.

To sum up, as of now, ‘.CIPRIANI’ is not an existing or available top-level domain, per the information from trusted internet governing bodies like ICANN and IANA. However, the possibility of creating such custom gTLDs exists, given the organization or business has its meaningful justification and adequate funds to go through the application process with ICANN.
