The top-level domain (TLD) : GEORGE

Firstly, it’s crucial to understand that the top-level domain (TLD) is a part of a many Internet web address that comes at the end. You might be familiar with common TLDs like .com, .org, .net, etc. The IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) manages these domains as per the DNS (Domain Name System) hierarchy.

However, to answer your question directly, there is currently no top-level domain (TLD) named GEORGE. The ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) oversees the process of the introduction of new TLDs and their administration. They have a specific and formal application process. To allow for new proposed TLDs, ICANN opened an application window in 2012, known as “New gTLD Program”, where organizations could propose new generic TLDs. It saw the introduction of a variety of new, innovative TLDs like .app, .blog, .music etc., but none named GEORGE (ICANN, 2012).

However, it is theoretically possible to apply for a new TLD named GEORGE in future application periods. But, the process is intricate and costly. ICANN charged a $185,000 evaluation fee per application just for consideration of the new TLD during the 2012 application window, not including other potential costs like legal, technical, financial, and operational.

It’s also worth mentioning that, depending on your use, there may be trademark issues associated with TLDs if the proposition includes a name or brand (like GEORGE) that’s already protected by intellectual property rights. This would need to be reviewed and approved by the relevant parties and legal entities.

As for country code TLDs (ccTLDs) which are two-letter long, GE represents Georgia while ORG represents organizations. There’s no GEORGE ccTLD.

In short, as of now, there is no .GEORGE TLD and applying to establish one would involve a considerable process and significant expense.
