The top-level domain (TLD) : SCHOLARSHIPS

I’m sorry for any confusion, but “.scholarships” isn’t a recognized or established top-level domain (TLD) in reference to internet domain names.

Domain names like .com, .org, .gov, .edu, .net are traditional TLDs and are managed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) as cited by the Whoi’s Hosting This? Website.

In addition to these, there are numerous newer TLDs introduced since 2013 under ICANN’s New gTLD Program. These include categories like .shop, .app, .blog, etc. The full list of delegated TLDs can be found on ICANN’s official website.

As for the “.scholarships” TLD, it does not make part of this list according to the ICANN data, as of the date of the answer. Hence, .scholarships is not an active TLD and no websites currently use this TLD.

While it’s possible to suggest a new TLD to ICANN in future application process phases, it involves a complex and costly procedure, as outlined in the ICANN Applicant Guidebook. This process includes demonstration of a legitimate claim to or plan for the TLD, extensive technical capacity, and a fee of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As of now, organizations and institutions offering scholarships mostly use other validated TLDs like .edu, .org, or country-specific TLDs. For instance, websites like scholarships.com or collegexpress.com in the US or scholarship-positions.com globally, provide extensive information regarding scholarships. All these platforms have opted for .com domain, which is very common and widely accepted.

In summary, “.scholarships” is not currently an established or recognized top-level domain under ICANN. Therefore, it isn’t used by any websites offering scholarship information. They typically prefer other widespread, recognized TLDs formats like .com, .org, or .edu.
