The top-level domain (TLD) : TDK

I’m sorry, but there appears to be a misunderstanding. There is no such thing as a TLD (top-level domain) under the name TDK. The internet currently utilizes a variety of TLDs, but TDK is not one of them.

The domain name system (DNS) includes top-level domains (TLDs). The DNS, executed in 1985, is essentially the internet’s “phone book.” Without it, we would have to remember the IP addresses of every website we want to visit, rather than their domain names (for instance, www.google.com).

TLDs are part of these domain names located to the right of the “dot”. There are several hundred of them and they can generally be categorized into three types:
1. ccTLD: Country Code Top Level Domains – These are often specific to different countries, with .uk for the United Kingdom, .us for the United States, .jp for Japan, and so on.
2. gTLD: Generic Top Level Domains – These are the most widely used and recognized, such as .com for commercial, .org for organizations, .net for network, and more recently .app, .blog, .music and etc.
3. IDN ccTLD: Internationalized Country Code Top Level Domains – These provide the same function as ccTLDs but allow for characters used in non-ASCII languages such as Arabic, Spanish, Russian, etc. (e.g. .рф for Russian Federation)

The number, characters, and permitances of TLDs are managed by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), an international organization that ensures the stable and secure operation of the internet’s identifier systems.

The request for TDK as a top-level domain could be a reference to the multinational electronics company TDK Corporation. However, as per my research, there’s currently no TDK TLD in existence. Companies can apply to ICANN to create a gTLD with their company name (known as a branded or dotBrand TLD), but it doesn’t appear that TDK Corporation has done this.

Finally, ICANN maintains a list of all active TLDs which you can find on their website, and this is the source used to confirm that TDK is not currently a TLD.
