Generally, the TLD of a internet domain name can help identify the purpose or geographical location of the domain name. However, the term TIAA does not fit into any recognized category of TLDs.

As far as TIAA is concerned, it primarily refers to The Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America-College Retirement Equities Fund, an American-based insurance and investment organization that serves those who work in the academic, research, medical, and governmental fields (TIAA, 2021).
In summary, TIAA does not function as a recognized TLD within the current domain name structure of the World Wide Web. It might be used as a second-level domain, such as in “www.TIAA.com”, where “.com” is the TLD and “TIAA” is the second-level domain, but it is not a recognized TLD in its own right.
