To configure Fault Tolerance (FT) in vSphere, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the host is in a vSphere HA cluster and that the FT feature is enabled on the cluster.
2. Identify the virtual machine that you want to apply FT to and turn it off.
3. Right-click the virtual machine and select “Edit Settings.“
4. Under the “Options” tab, select “Fault Tolerance.“
5. Check the box next to “Turn on Fault Tolerance for this virtual machine.“
6. Choose the secondary host where the FT replica will be created.
7. Choose the storage location for the FT log files.
8. Click “OK” to save the settings.
9. Power on the virtual machine to activate FT.
Note: It is recommended to use Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) or faster network adapters for FT to ensure smooth and efficient replication of virtual machines.
