To configure performance thresholds in vSphere, follow these steps:
1. Log in to vSphere Client and select the vCenter Server instance.
1. Go to the Home menu, click on the “Hosts and Clusters” option, and choose the cluster you want to configure.
1. Click the “Configure” tab and click “vCenter Server Settings.”
1. Click the “Advanced Settings” option and navigate to “vpxd.stats.maxQueryMetrics.”
1. Enter a value for the maximum number of statistics to query per call. (default value is 256)
1. Click the “OK” button to save changes.
1. To configure individual performance thresholds, click the “Performance” tab and select the virtual machine or host to configure.
1. Click the “Manage” tab and select “Settings.”
1. Select the “Chart Options” tab and click the “Add” button.
1. Enter the value for your threshold, choose the metric you want to monitor, and select the action to take once the threshold is exceeded.
1. Click the “OK” button to save changes.
1. Repeat the process for each performance threshold you want to configure.
1. After you have configured all thresholds and actions, you can monitor them on the “Performance” tab by selecting the “Performance Charts” option.
1. You can also create alarms and notifications to alert you when your thresholds are exceeded.
