How do I configure virtual machine snapshots in vSphere?

To configure virtual machine snapshots in vSphere, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the vSphere client and log in with your credentials.
2. Go to the inventory view and select the virtual machine you want to configure snapshots for.
3. Right-click on the virtual machine and select “Snapshots” from the dropdown menu.
4. Click on “Take Snapshot” and enter a name and description for the snapshot.
5. Choose the snapshot options, such as whether to include memory state and whether to quiesce the virtual machine.
6. Click on “OK” to create the snapshot.

You can manage and view the snapshots in the same “Snapshots” menu. From there, you can take additional snapshots, revert to a previous snapshot, or delete a snapshot. It is important to monitor and manage snapshots regularly to avoid excessive disk usage and potential performance issues.
