How to configure performance alerts in vCenter?


To configure performance alerts in vCenter, follow the steps given below:

1. Log in to the vSphere Client and select the vCenter Server system from the inventory.

1. Click the Monitor tab, and then click the Alerts tab.

1. Click the Definitions tab, and then click Add.

1. In the Add Alarm wizard, provide the following information:

a. Name and description for the alarm. b. Select the target object for the alarm. c. Select the event that triggers the alarm. d. Define the conditions for the alarm to be triggered.

1. Click Next to set up the actions for the alarm.

1. Define the action that should be triggered when the alarm is triggered.

1. Click Finish to create the alarm.

1. To test the alarm, you can generate a performance chart for the selected object and modify the performance data to match the alarm conditions. If the conditions are met, an email or other notification will be sent to the specified recipients.
