How to configure user groups and roles in vSphere?


To configure user groups and roles in vSphere, follow these steps:

1. Login to the vSphere Web Client as an administrator.

1. Go to the “Administration” tab and select “Access Control” from the left-hand navigation menu.

1. Click on “Global Permissions” in the “Access Control” panel.

1. Click on the “Add” button to create a new user group.

1. Enter a name for the new user group and click “OK”.

1. With the new user group selected, click the “Add” button under the “Assigned Role” box.

1. Select the appropriate role for the group from the drop-down menu and click “OK”.

1. Click on the “Add” button to add users to the group.

1. Enter the user name in the “Add Permission” window and click “OK”.

1. The new user group with its assigned role can now be seen under the “Global Permissions” panel in the vSphere Web Client.

Repeat these steps for each user group that needs to be created and assigned a role in the vSphere environment.
