How to implement Network Failover protection in vSphere?

To implement Network Failover protection in vSphere, follow these steps:

1. Create a distributed virtual switch (DVS) in vSphere by navigating to the Networking section and selecting the Distributed Switch option.
2. Configure the DVS with two or more physical NICs that are connected to different switches or network ports.
3. Create a port group on the DVS and assign it to the virtual machines that require network failover protection.
4. Configure the failover settings for the port group. There are two modes: Route based on originating virtual port ID and Route based on physical NIC load.
5. Test the network failover protection by disconnecting one of the physical NICs or disabling the network port on the switch that it is connected to.
6. Monitor the virtual machines to ensure they maintain network connectivity during the failover.

Note: Network failover protection is not a substitute for a proper disaster recovery plan. It is one component of ensuring high availability for virtual machines.
