How to live migrate virtual machines (vMotion) in vSphere?

1. Ensure that vMotion is enabled on both the source and destination ESXi hosts.
2. Ensure that both the source and destination hosts are connected to the same shared storage.
3. Determine which virtual machines need to be migrated and make sure they are powered on.
4. Right-click on the virtual machine to be migrated in the vSphere Client, and select “Migrate” from the context menu.
5. Select “Change storage only” as the migration type and click “Next”.
6. Select the destination host as the target and click “Next”.
7. Review the migration details, select “Change both host and datastore” if desired, and click “Finish”.
8. Wait for the migration to complete. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the virtual machine and the network speed.
9. Verify that the virtual machine is running on the destination host and that the IP address or DNS name of the virtual machine has not changed.
