To switch vCenter management to another server in vCenter, follow the steps below:
1. Power off the virtual machine that is running the existing vCenter Server instance.
1. Install vCenter Server on the new server and configure it with the necessary settings such as IP address, DNS name, etc.
1. Connect to the new vCenter Server instance using the vSphere Client and log in with administrative credentials.
1. In the vSphere Client, navigate to the Home screen, and select the “Hosts and Clusters” view.
1. Highlight the existing vCenter Server instance in the inventory and select “Disconnect”.
1. Right-click on the datacenter object and select “Add Hosts or Clusters”.
1. Follow the prompts to add the new vCenter Server instance to the datacenter.
1. Migrate all the virtual machines, templates, and settings from the old vCenter Server instance to the new vCenter Server instance.
1. Once the migration is complete, power on the virtual machine that is running the new vCenter Server instance.
1. Verify that all the virtual machines and settings are accessible through the new vCenter Server instance.
1. Decommission the old vCenter Server instance by deleting its virtual machine and removing any associated resources.
