Depending on the operating system you’re using on your VPS server, the process to update your packages can vary. The two most popular systems are Ubuntu (and other Debian-based systems) and CentOS (and other Red Hat-based systems). Here’s how to update on both of these:

Ubuntu/Debian:
1. Log in to your server via SSH. You can do this by the terminal using the command: `ssh your_username@your_server_ip`

CentOS/Red Hat:
1. Log in to your server via SSH.
1. Use this command to update all of your packages: `sudo yum update`
Please replace “your_username” and “your_server\_ip” with your real username and server IP address. The “sudo” command is necessary if you’re not logged in as root (it stands for “SuperUser DO” and gives you administrative permissions).
Remember that system updates can sometimes fail due to various reasons. Server management and package updating should be performed by experienced administrators.
