What is Proof-of-Work?

Proof-of-Work (PoW) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain networks to verify and validate transactions. In the PoW system, miners compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles in order to create a new block in the chain and receive a reward for their efforts. The puzzle is designed to be computationally difficult and requires a significant amount of computational power to solve, making it difficult for any individual or group to manipulate the network. Once a miner finds a solution, they broadcast it to the network, and if the majority of nodes agree that the solution is correct, the block is added to the blockchain. This process helps to maintain the integrity and security of the blockchain network.
