How to change the password of a WordPress user account?


To change the password of a WordPress user account, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the WordPress dashboard.
2. Navigate to the Users section in the left sidebar and click on “All Users.“
3. Locate the user account whose password you want to change and click on the “Edit” link beneath the username.
4. Scroll down to the “Account Management” section.
5. Click on the “Generate Password” button to create a new password automatically or enter a new password in the “New Password” field manually.
6. Click on the “Update User” button to save the changes.

Alternatively, you can also change the password of a user account via the MySQL database. Here are the technical steps to do so:

1. Access the MySQL database using phpMyAdmin or any other database management tool.
2. Locate the wp\_users table and select it.
3. Find the user account whose password you want to change and click on the “Edit” link.
4. Locate the “user\_pass” field and delete the existing password.
5. Enter a new password in the user\_pass field.
6. Select the MD5 hash function in the Function drop-down menu next to the user\_pass field.
7. Click on the “Go” button to save the changes.
