1. Configure DNS Server:
Before Zimbra installation, you must have a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) configured to resolve DNS queries. Here we are using “mail.your-domain.com” as a FQDN for Zimbra mail server.

1. Install and Configure DNS Server:
You can install it by just running the below command. \`\`\`bash sudo apt-get install bind9 bind9utils bind9-doc \`\`\`
Then, configure it’s as per your requirement.

1. Download Zimbra Collaboration Suite:
Now download the Zimbra Collaboration Suite using the following commands. \`\`\`bash wget https://files.zimbra.com/downloads/8.7.11_GA/zcs-8.6.0_GA_1153.RHEL7_64.20141215151155.tgz \`\`\`

You need to select the Zimbra packages for your server. Zimbra-LDAP, Zimbra-logger, Zimbra-mta, Zimbra-SNMP, Zimbra-store, Zimbra-apache, Zimbra-spell and Zimbra-convertd are the necessary packages.

1. Configure System Hostname With Zimbra:
The Hostname is set to mail.your-domain.com. The Zimbra server needs mail.your-domain.com to be configured on /etc/hosts with your system’s IP.

Now set the domain name. The default domain name is zcs-test.cf, but we will change it to your-domain.com.

1. Set Password for Admin Account:
Enter a new password for the Admin user.

1. Configure anti-Spam Update Preferences:
You are given the option to receive automatic or manual updates for antivirus and anti-spam definitions. Choose as per your preferences.

1. Apply Configuration:
Once you have made all the choices, you can press “a” to apply the changes.

1. Save Configuration Data:
You will be given the option to save your configurations to a file. This file can be used for automated installation. Type ‘Y’ to save.

1. Install Software:
Press ‘Y’ to install the software.

1. Access Zimbra:
After successful installation, you can access the admin console through the web interface using the URL: “https://mail.your-domain.com:7071”. Remember to replace “your-domain.com” with your actual domain name.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to replace “your-domain.com” with your actual domain name.

It should be noted that this guide may vary depending on the Linux distribution you are using. The system should also have a fully qualified domain name and a properly configured DNS.

If you run into issues, be sure to check Zimbra’s official documentation for possible solutions.
